Youth Art Month will take place at the Rose Gallery at the Francis Parker School's Linda Vista Campus.

The exhibition will be on view from Feb. 2nd through March 22nd 2015.

An awards reception will be held at the closing of the exhibition on March 22nd from 1-2:30 at the Rose Gallery.

 

2015 Exhibition Timeline

November 24, 2014       12:00 a.m. online digital registration and submission opens
December 21, 2014        11:59PM - DEADLINE for ONLINE SUBMISSION
      January 5, 2015        Teachers notified of accepted works
    January 23, 2015        4 PM Deadline for delivery of artwork to SDCOE
             Feb 2, 2015        Youth Art Month Exhibition opens to the public
       March 22, 2015        1PM – 2:30 PM Closing Awards Reception, Rose Gallery

Entry Eligibility & Rules

Teachers must be current members of SDCAEA to submit student artwork.  Paid attendance at the 2014 Mega-Arts

Conference included SDCAEA membership dues.  To become a member, please visit SDCAEA

Open to all media, no size restrictions, 2D, 3D and installation

Open to all students grades K-12 in San Diego County

Entries must be submitted digitally by teachers for online jurying HERE

Work that makes use of photographs, published images, and or other artists/ works, must show creative development beyond duplication.  This may be demonstrated through manipulation of formal qualities, design, and/or concept of the original work.  It is unethical, constitutes plagiarism, and often violates copyright law to simply copy an image (even in another medium) that was created by someone else.

To Submit Your Students' Artwork

Complete the teacher registration

Complete entries for up to 8 student works and upload up to three digital images of each work

Teachers will be notified by email of works accepted after jurying by January 5, 2015

Each accepted 2D work is required to be matted in black mat board

Each accepted submission must be accompanied by a short artist statement
